“At The Moment…” Fabrizio Romano Speaks Out On Reports Linking United With 112M Rated Strike Duo

Manchester United are not expected to sign Napoli’s Victor Osimhen or Barcelona’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before the transfer window closes, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Red Devils have been linked with the two strikers in recent days but the Italian journalist has played down the club’s interest in both players:

“With Osimhen, there are a lot of rumours but, at the moment, I see him staying at Napoli. Also, there are a lot of stories about Aubameyang, but Chelsea are working to sign him as soon as possible.”

Reports in Italy have suggested that Osimhen could be involved in a swap deal with Cristiano Ronaldo but the Nigerian international’s €100m (£86m) plus price tag would make any deal very difficult.

There had also been rumours that United may hijack Chelsea’s attempt to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but it is felt that the former Arsenal player would prefer a return to London if a deal can be agreed. Barcelona are said to be holding out for €30m (£26m).

From the sound of things, the Manchester club’s transfer business is likely to wrap up once Martin Dubravka is signed from Newcastle on loan. There are, though, some suggestions that Erik ten Hag’s side may make one final move before the deadline.
