Allegri Denies Claims He Is Interested In Manchester United Manager’s Role

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has denied links with the vacant managerial position at Manchester United.

A report in the English press claimed that the Italian was keen on a move to Old Trafford, but speaking at a press conference yesterday, the Bianconeri boss confirmed he is committed to Juve for the long-term:

“I have a contract with Juventus and I am happy here. We are doing a great job together with the club. There are many games to win before the end of the season, there is time before June. Italian football is fascinating, I am not tired of it.”

At the bookmakers, Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is very much still the firm favourite to take over from interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the end of the season.

The Argentine is 2/1 at BetVictor to take charge for the 2019/20 campaign, while Allegri is 16/1. Other candidates include Zinedine Zidane (5/1) and Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone (16/1). Current boss Solskjaer is 3/1 to stay in the role.

The Norwegian has started his reign as manager with two good wins against Cardiff City and Huddersfield Town. There are certainly sterner tests to come but United are certainly going in the right direction under his guidance.
