Alexis Sanchez has opened up on his controversial January move to Old Trafford, admitting the move has been tough for him personally.

Sanchez joined United earlier in the year from Arsenal, however has failed to replicate the form he showed at The Emirates at his new club.

The Chilean has managed just three goals in 14 appearances for Jose Mourinho’s side, and has come under heavy criticism from fans and pundits for his lacklustre displays.

However Sanchez hopes he can set right what’s been a “tough’ first few months at Old Trafford next season.

“What can we take from this season? It’s been difficult, I think next year we have to go for it. It was a tough change for me.” he said.

“The coach told me to speak with him as he’s not used to bringing in players in January. It has been demanding.

“United are special because of their history, they have so much history on a world level. You guys can see that when you come to the stadium.

“The fans too, I have come here and I want to win everything next year with this team and with the coach.”
