Alan Shearer Names Two United Stars And Two Arsenal Players In His Premier League Team Of The Week

Alan Shearer has included Manchester United pair Marcus Rashford and Tyrell Malacia in his Official Premier League Team of the Week.

While the BBC pundit praised Rashford for being a constant threat to Liverpool in the 2-1 win on Monday night, he reserved special mention for Malacia who played very well on his full debut:

“To keep Mohamed Salah quiet for most of the match on such a big occasion was no mean feat.”

In terms of the rest of the eleven, Shearer selected four Newcastle players: Nick Pope, Kieran Trippier, Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin, who all played their part in the 3-3 draw against Manchester City at the weekend.

He also gave Arsenal some recognition, following their convincing 3-0 victory over Bournemouth, by including the likes of William Saliba and Martin Odegaard, who both got on the scoresheet at the Vitality Stadium.

The remaining two places in Shearer’s team went to Leeds winger Jack Harrison (who put in an excellent performance against Chelsea) and Southampton’s Che Adams, following his brace versus Leicester.
