‘Agent Put A Stop To It…’ Report Reveals United Came Very Close To Sealing 88M January Transfer

Manchester United had “agreed” to sign Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic during the January transfer window before the move collapsed, according to AS.

The Madrid-based newspaper claims a deal for the Serbian international, worth between €100m (£88m) and €120m (£106m), had been reached but the player’s “agent put a stop to it”.

No additional details are given as to why Vlahovic’s representative decided to pull the plug, but it is believed the player will be back on the market this summer.

AS report Real Madrid are expected to enter the race for the 23-year-old, who has also been linked with other Premier League teams, including Chelsea and Arsenal.

Whether United will consider reigniting their pursuit of Vlahovic at the end of the season, we shall have to wait and see. Manager Erik ten Hag is said to be targeting a new number nine but there is unlikely to be a lot of trust between the club and the forward’s agent after what reportedly happened in January.
