Agent Of 70M Rated Uruguayan Star Speaks Out Amid Interest From United, City, Chelsea And Liverpool

The agent of Benfica striker Darwin Nunez has revealed that clubs have been in contact with him regarding their interest in the player.

Manchester United, along with Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Bayern Munich were linked with the £70m rated Uruguayan international at the weekend. Edgardo Lasalvia claims that, while the forward is concentrating on his football, any potential transfer will also be considered:

“Darwin is ready to play in any team on the globe. Various top-level teams have contacted us, but for the moment the head is on continuing and growing with Benfica and with the Uruguayan national team: this is how important things will come.”

“The important thing is that he is happy now and wants to repay the trust of Benfica and the affection of the people by winning a title. We’ll discuss the transfer possibilities with the club executives if necessary, as it should be. For the moment we’re calm and happy to see him on the pitch.”

Nunez has had an excellent start to the season for Benfica, having scored six goals in eight appearances so far. Whether United would need another striker, though, it is up for debate.

The Manchester club snapped up Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer, while they also have both Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial on their books.

However, Ronaldo and Cavani are not getting any younger, while Nunez is still only 22 years of age, making him one for the future. Considering the interest in the Uruguayan, though, the Red Devils will have a fight on their hands if they do decide to go after him.
