Adidas already printing United shirts with ‘Sanchez 7’ ahead of rumoured Old Trafford switch

Adidas may have inadvertently confirmed Manchester United’s signing of Alexis Sanchez after replica United shirts with the Chilean’s name were pictured at the brands flagship store.

Sanchez is widely expected to complete the his controversial switch to Old Trafford in the coming days. The move will also see United’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan go the other way after a disappointing season-and-a-half with the Red Devils.

A deal is yet to be confirmed by either club, however Adidas – who manufacture United’s kit – appear to have all but confirmed the rumoured transfer after printing shirts with Sanchez’s name alongside the iconic number 7 on the back.

A number of photos of shirts with the seemingly former Arsenal stars name and number are pictured at the store in Oxford Street London.

While some may believe Adidas and the excited supporters may have jumped the gun, Arsene Wenger recently confirmed a deal for Sanchez is ‘close’ to being completed and that he expects to see Henrikh Mkhitaryan in an Arsenal shirt very soon.

Wenger said: “Yes, it is likely to happen. Any minute things can break down.

“That’s how the transfer market is. These things are never guaranteed. It can happen, it can as well not happen.

“It is at that stage. If it does not happen, he will play Saturday.”
