‘Above All Manchester United…’ Report Confirms Club Are Pressing Ahead With Plans To Sign 39M Rated World Cup Star

PSV Eindhoven winger Cody Gakpo is a key target for Manchester United ahead of the January transfer window, according to Calciomercato.com.

The Italian website claims that the likes of AC Milan and Liverpool are also keeping tabs on the Netherlands international but they say that “above all Manchester United have taken more information” ahead of a potential bid.

Gakpo scored in Holland’s first World Cup group game against Senegal on Monday and, if he continues to impress during the tournament, more clubs are likely to enter the fray for his signature.

Arsenal, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Barcelona have also been mentioned as potential suitors in the past but United do appear to be the favourites at the moment.

Calciomercato claim that PSV will hold out for at least €45m (£39m) to €50m (£43m) to sell Gakpo and it remains to be seen whether Erik ten Hag’s side will come up with the funds required to secure the player’s services.
