‘A Huge Mistake’ ‘I Doubt He’ll Play For Us Again’ Fans Frustrated As United Star Picks Up Yet Another Injury

Manchester United forward Edinson Cavani had to be substituted 30 minutes into Uruguay’s 2-0 win over Chile last night after sustaining a calf injury.

The 35-year-old had just returned from a groin problem before the international break, making substitute appearances against Tottenham and Atletico Madrid, but he may now be set for another spell on the sidelines.

Supporters on Twitter are annoyed at this latest fitness setback and they believe Cavani has not been value for money since the club gave him a new one-year contract in the summer:

Cavani really has found it hard to stay fit during his second season with the Red Devils. This is the FOURTH time that the Uruguayan has broken down since August and that doesn’t count his late return to preseason.

It is not surprising to hear reports that United are not even considering offering him another extension, with the player now likely to move to Spain at the end of the campaign.
