Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic is weighing up whether to leave the club as early as January, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The Serbian has moved down the pecking order under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and is unlikely to feature prominently when he does return from injury.
Inter Milan and AC Milan are the main two contenders for Matic’s signature, and fans on Twitter would not be against the 31-year-old leaving when the transfer window reopens:

We must sign a midfielder in January.

Even Serie A might be too fast paced for Matic.

Thank You Conte. Unsung United hero.

I don't ever want to see us sign another expensive 30ish midfielder from a rival. They aren't selling us the crown jewels.
It's signings like him that said getting rid of mourniho was the right idea.

He even leaves slowly

I only see Garner getting more playtime with this development, United won't buy anyone

I think the time is right for static Matic to leave..

As long as they replace him I'm in favor of it

United are said to be reluctant to let the Serbian international leave unless they can find a replacement first. Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini have left the club over the past year without replacements being found so another central midfield option will be needed.
Matic’s current contract expires in the summer but the Red Devils are likely to take up their option to extend his stay for another year to increase his transfer value. The midfielder cost United £40m when he moved from Chelsea in 2017 but despite a successful first season, he has not had the impact many would have hoped.
