The 2015/16 season saw the emergence of two of Europe’s brightest young stars.
Marcus Rashford burst onto the scene at Old Trafford, bagging twice on both his European and Premier League debuts – one a 5-1 win over FC Midtjylland, the other an historic 3-2 victory over Arsenal.
At the same time across in pond in Germany, a young Leroy Sane was enjoying his breakthrough season at Sane, turning the heads of some of Europe’s biggest clubs with his dazzling performances. Manchester City came calling in the summer.
Big things were expected of the young duo.
The two have drawn constant comparisons throughout their thus far short playing career. Both pacy, skilful and with an eye for goal, the future promised, and still promises, to be bright for Rashford and Sane.
Yet for one, things appear to be happening a little quicker.
Leroy Sane starred for Manchester City on Thursday night at Arsenal in a 3-0 win, producing a goal and an assists to take his totals to the season to 12 and 13 respectively.
Rashford, on the other hand, despite a blistering start to the season, has fallen out of favour with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford. Often being used out of position the Englishman has scored just three times in his last 26 appearances. Two of those three goals came against Yeovil Town and CSKA Moscow.
So why has one shone, and one struggled? That’s a question for another day. (although suspicion says it has a lot do to with Jose Mourinho)
One thing is for certain though is that those comparison between the two Manchester stars are ongoing, but don’t read quite as well for young Rashford any longer …

Indeed Sane is better than Rashford.

I've seen Dembele, Sane, Rashford, Mbappe & sterling play. Contenders for the ballondor will be Sane and Mbappe in the coming years. People actually can't see how good Sane is. One more year with Pep and he'll be the best in the world, way ahead of everyone mentioned above

I am sorry Leroy Sané that I ever compared you to Rashford , you are head and shoulders a better player than he is #ARSMCI
