4 Things To Know About Jude Bellingham After Starlet Makes Visit To United’s Training Ground

Birmingham City midfielder Jude Bellingham was at Manchester United’s training ground yesterday, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The 16-year-old is said to be touring clubs across Europe as he decides where he will be playing his football from next season.

Reports suggest that Bellingham could cost in excess of £35m despite only making his senior debut for Birmingham at the beginning of the season. So, what do we know about the teenager?

Press the “next page” as we look at four facts about the midfielder you may not know.

1) He has been at Birmingham from a young age

Bellingham joined the Midlands club at the age of just nine and he made his way through the youth ranks of the Blues until he made his Under 23 debut at just 15 versus Nottingham Forest in October 2018.

Despite being much younger than his teammates, he made an immediate impact by scoring the winner against Forest.

2) Bellingham’s is currently earning a pittance on his current contract

The teenager is currently not on professional terms at Birmingham, allowing him to talk to other clubs, including Manchester United, about his future.

Bellingham signed a two-year scholarship contract last summer, which earns him a paltry £145 a week. He may be offered a deal at least 100 times that if he moves to another club at the end of the season.

3) He is the youngest debutant and youngest ever scorer in Birmingham’s history

Following his impressive form for the Under 23s, it didn’t take long for Birmingham head coach Pep Clotet to select him for the first team.

Bellingham made his senior debut against Portsmouth in the Carabao Cup back in August, making him the Blues’ youngest ever player at 16 years and 38 days old. He then scored his first senior goal in a league game against Stoke later in the month, making him their youngest scorer.

4) Bellingham has been heralded as a complete midfielder

The 16-year-old has played as a central midfield player, a left-winger and a right-winger for Birmingham this season due to his excellent technical ability.

In addition, he already has the physical qualities to play in the Championship, as well as having the tactical knowledge and decision making skills of someone far older. It is no surprise then that United and a host of other clubs including Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund are pursuing his signature.
