Zlatan Hints At United Exit

Zlatan Ibrahimovic may have only joined Manchester United 5 months ago, but the veteran striker is already dropping hints and where his future might be come the end of the season. The striker joined on a free transfer from PSG last summer, making fans rejoice. His presence meant United did not only have a new world class striker in their ranks, but also sense of optimism around United as a club. Success usually follows Zlatan wherever he goes in his career.

Since the start of the season it has become clear that Ibrahimovic is a vital member of Jose Mourinho’s side, having started all but one of United’s Premier League games this season – missing out on the game against Arsenal because of a ban.

The former Sweden international, who has been honoured with a statue back in Sweden recently, has had plenty of ups and downs so far at United. He has been overall fairly good in front of goal, scoring 8 goals in all competitions. However, the striker did go on a long goal drought earlier in the season, and has been criticised for missing key opportunities to score.

He might still be a fan favourite at Old Trafford, but the 35-year-old has admitted he is not getting too comfortable at the club and still wants to conquer the USA.

Ibrahimovic told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet: “If I want to [leave Premier League]. We’ll see.”

“It’s not only about football, it’s about all the rest as well. How do I feel? How do I feel physically? Mentally? But that’s no problem really, I can handle that easily. I felt more pressure in Paris Saint-Germain.”

“It [MLS] is a huge option for me, for the football and everything else. I can see myself conquering the US as I have with Europe.”

“Lots of people stay in one place throughout their career, but I’ve traveled around like Napoleon, and conquered every new country where I’ve set foot. So perhaps I should do what Napoleon didn’t and cross the Atlantic and conquer the States as well.”

It is clearly a long way to go until the end of the season, but it is questionable as to why Zlatan would hint at such a move so early into the season?
