Where Would This Brilliant Attacker Fit In At Old Trafford?

Manchester United’s recent massive investments have not all paid off up until now. Fortunately, the transfer budget remains one of the biggest in the world, just as you would expect for one of the biggest clubs in the world. Because of the financial support offered by Manchester’s sponsors, any rumor regarding a possible transfer might turn out to be true. The best we can do is analyze those rumors right now and figure out of any of them could turn out to be true.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at one of the most sought after players of the moment. It is Atletico’s Antoine Griezmann. The Frenchman who will not be leaving Spain before the European Championship is over, has been a target for the Devils for some time now and according to Metro, he has just been pushed up the list. The big question is: does he have a spot in the team where he can shine? If we look at Manchester United’s line-up you might say he would not have the same effect on the Devils’ game as he does on Atletico. Why? Mostly because all the positions he is used to playing are covered very well by some brilliant youngsters.

The thing is though that there is a recent change that might allow Griezmann to fit in perfectly. Rooney’s retreat even further back may help open a position Atletico’s man would be perfect for. Part of Manchester’s lack of success was due to the fact that towards the beginning of the season, players had yet to define their place on the pitch. Mata was consistently used awa from his preferred position of number 10 and still is. Herrera’s story is pretty much the same. With Griezmann, United could play a 4-1-3-2 formation with Griezmann and Rashford or Martial up front and with Rooney behind the two. LVG could also use the Frenchman as a right winger. Honestly, the way the Reds have been spending, it would be a pity not to bid for Griezmann. He is a player who could help turn things around for United. The only problem when it comes to this transfer is the fact that the Premier League is a lot tougher than La Liga. Even though quick and quite magical with the ball, Griezmann might have a hard time handling the rough nature of English football. Of course, that’s kind of a gamble with all players brought in from outside of the UK.
