Memphis Depay’s name has been everywhere. The youngster has made his name as one of the most exciting prospects around. Depay has played a huge role in PSV regaining the Eredivisie title this season, his excellence has seen him notch 25 goals for the side, and chip in with 4 assists. Understandably, this has seen Depay linked with a whole host of top European sides this summer.

It has now emerged that Depay is edging closer to a Manchester United move. According to various different sources, the Dutchman arrived in Manchester this week to meet with representatives of Manchester United. It is believed Depay is keen to reunite with Louis van Gaal who has made a great impact on his career, giving Depay his international debut in 2013 and picking him in his World Cup squad. The now Manchester United boss is apparently seen by Memphis Depay as a ‘Father figure’.

Manchester United could be willing to offer Depay up to £130,000 a week in an attempt to see off competition from the likes of PSG, who have apparently also made contact with the player.

It is well known that Manchester United scouts have watched Depay various times, and will surely have been left impressed by the Dutchman. His pace would be much appreciated at United, and an eye for goal is never something to turn your nose up at plus United are seemingly interested in wingers and he is a seriously good one with loads of potential. It seems as if the Premier League would be the perfect fit for Depay, and at such a tender age, he would have so much to offer United in years to come.

The fee often quoted for Memphis Depay is around the £25m mark, which for a player likened to Arjen Robben, seems fairly reasonable, and United would surely have no trouble finding that sort of money.
