United And City ‘Already Negotiating’ With Clubs Locked In Battle To Sign 18M Rated Brazilian Teenage Sensation

Manchester United and Manchester City are “already negotiating” to sign Palmeiras winger Gabriel Veron, according to Sport.

The Catalan publication reports that Barcelona are also keen on the Brazilian teenage sensation but the two Manchester clubs are leading the race for the player.

Veron is reportedly valued at €20m (£18m), despite his €60m (£53m) release clause, but Palmeiras would like a bidding war in order to match the €32m (£28m) they received for Gabriel Jesus.

At this stage, neither United nor City are thought to be in the lead to sign the 18-year-old. However, both are said to be prepared to let the player stay at Palmeiras until the end of the Brazilian season if it ensures they sign him ahead of the likes of Barcelona.

This campaign, Veron has made 22 appearances, scoring six goals and contributing three assists. The Brazilian Under 17 international is equally comfortable playing on the right or left-wing.
