Pogba’s Agent Fuels Transfer Talk

Paul Pogba’s agent has claimed the player will be sold in the summer if the right offer is made.

The Frenchman left Old Trafford on a free transfer in 2012, and has since become one of the most highly rated players in the world. It is said that Pogba doesn’t hold any grudges against United, even though the reason for his departure was down to his lack of games.

He has said to have interested most of Europe’s elite clubs, including Manchester United and Chelsea.

Although Pogba signed a new five-year contract at Juventus in October, his agent has suggested that he could be sold.

Raiola (Pogba’s agent) told La Stampa – “With Juventus we signed for five years, but we’re all gentlemen and if the right offer comes along for Pogba and for Juventus, then it will be done.”

His agent then went on to compare Pogba to France legend Zinedine Zidane.

“My theory is: you have to change when you are strong, not when you have to. Next year they will need four or five pieces. Remember what happened when Zidane left.”

Zidane left Juventus for Real Madrid for a world record fee in 2001. The money from his sale was used to buy Gianluigi Buffon, Lilian Thuram and Pavel Nedved. All of whom are considered Juventus legends.

Pogba is currently sidelined with injury. He suffered a hamstring strain last month which will rule him out of Juventus’ Champions League quarter-final second leg tie.

United will feel they have a real chance of landing Pogba. £50 million + for a 22 year old may seem steep, however for a player of his quality, it’s a case of getting what you pay for and with Chelsea reportedly interested United may have to move quickly to lock the Frenchman down.
