Manchester United vs Everton – Match Preview and Line Ups

Manchester United take on Ronald Koeman’s Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon. Both sides are very close in the table and could equally do with a victory after some poor league form on both ends.

United won all their meetings with Everton last season (3), but Everton have won 3 of their last 4 Premier League home games against United. The Toffees’ form has been very poor in the league, having won just one of their last eight Premier League matches – but they are still unbeaten at home in the league. United have made their worst start to a Premier League campaign ever, with a tally of just 20 points after 13 games.

Wayne Rooney is suspended for the game against his former club after picking up his fifth booking of the season in the midweek EFL Cup win over West Ham. Luke Shaw is a doubt after limping off in the same game, with Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling still sidelined. However Paul Pogba and former Toffee Marouane Fellaini are back after their bans.

United are in desperate need of a win if they are to keep up with the top of the pile in the league. Mourinho’s men were back scoring goals against West Ham midweek, but they are still struggling in the league and will have to up their game if they are to outscore Everton.
