Manchester United To Secure Valencia Youngster

Mourinho seems to be going down the same path as LVG as the Portuguese boss is showing interest in young talented players who can grow next to legends like Rooney. After being linked to Pogba who will be incredibly tough to sign, United is now rumored to have opened negotiations with Valencia’s 22-year-old midfielder Andre Gomes. According to Metro, the Devils have already placed a bid of around £35million which is quite generous for such a young player. He has experience and has become a team regular but is he worth that much money right now? And most importantly, will he get to play now that Rooney has been pulled back to the midfield and that Schneiderlin and Fellaini are probably going to be featured more and more under Mourinho’s management?

There’s no doubt that Gomes has the abilities to make it in the Premier League but his playing style is very similar to the Reds’ current midfielders. He would be easy to sign as Valencia are very likely to sell and also because Jorge Mendes is his agent. Mendes is also representing Morurinho so United will always be favorites to buy Gomes as long as the Portuguese boss is at Old Trafford.

It is still early to tell what will happen in terms of transfers. As always, young players like Gomes will always wait for competitions like Euro 2016 to be over in order to decide what the future holds. He will be featured in Portugal’s national team who are expected to at least move on from the group stages.

There is a player who could be sealing a deal with Manchester United before Euro 2016. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is rumored to have agreed to personal terms. He is now waiting to sit down and talk to Mourinho who needs to draw some lines in terms of what kind of role will the Sweden international play at Old Trafford. The problem is that United have some up and coming players who need time on the pitch to develop properly. To bench Rashford for a year in favor of Ibrahimovic would not be the best move in the world. It’s the same with Martial. With that in mind, it would also be tricky to convince the former PSG striker to sign with the Devils and spend most of his contract as a substitute. Hopefully Mourinho will work his magic and convince Ibrahimovic to join the club as soon as possible. He will not remain a free agent for long given the way he performed last season. The Sweden international is requesting a salary of £220,000-a-week which is in the vicinity of what Rooney and De Gea make.
