Manchester United Target Europa League Winner

Manchester United are setting up to be the most active team on the transfer market as the summer window is about to open. LVG is prepared to spend massively and reconfigure the squad by adding some of the best players in the world to next season’s lot. After names like Pogba, Gundogan, Lacazette, Daniel Alves and Cavani have been heavily linked to a move to Old Trafford, it is time for Sevilla’s Carlos Bacca to merit serious consideration. Apparently Metro believe a deal valued at about £21m will go down sometime soon. With Falcao having left the club and with RVP also looking keen on leaving, Bacca would be an excellent addition to the team.

The Columbian is under contract until 2018 and he would make a great striker as long as one or two other big names come to Old Trafford. Despite his excellent performance from the Europa League final, Bacca doesn’t look like he is made out of the right material to be first fiddle. Even with a decent scoring rate of one goal every two matches, he is still unlikely to be better than someone like Cavani or Lacazette who are destined for a being number one choice wherever they play.

There is little sense in spending £21m on Bacca when you can spend a bit more on a 24 year old goal scoring machine like Lacazette. Even Benzema sounds better if you come to think of it. It would be a pity to see Sevilla’s striker be transferred to Manchester United and not get to play or become what Welbeck or Remy are for Arsenal and Chelsea.
