Manchester United Player Ratings vs Chelsea

Manchester United’s clash with Chelsea ended in defeat. Despite United’s domination in possession, they failed to capitalise. Eden Hazard’s goal came late in the first half after various slip ups from United’s men.

Although United fell short of the mark, they gave a very good show. One that could be said to be worthy of more than a loss. However disappointing the result may be, to Louis van Gaal’s credit, his men did give United fans a little something to come away with, a good performance.

Here are the Manchester United player ratings from the game, which as you will see, are pretty decent for a side that lost.

De Gea – 6.5
Valencia – 6.5
Smalling – 7
McNair – 7
Shaw – 8.5
Herrera – 8
Rooney – 7
Fellaini – 6
Mata – 6
Young – 6
Falcao – 6

There were a few talking points that came from the United team, not necessarily negatives either. Luke Shaw’s return to the side saw the youngster produce a brilliant performance which will surely have raised a few eyebrows. On the other hand, on loan Radamel Falcao failed to impress once again. His place in the starting XI in no doubt excited fans, however, disappointingly once again, it just didn’t happen for the Colombian.

Overall, no matter how disappointing, United lost against the soon to be champions. Fair play to Jose Mourinho, it may not be pretty, but he gets the results.
