Man United Vs Leicester – Preview & Predictions

It’s going to be complicated game for Manchester United given the fact that Leicester have the chance to win the Premier League at Old Trafford. The leaders will want to avoid any losing at any cost due to the fact that their two last games are against Everton and Chelsea who are two very tough teams to beat. Losing against United would put a world of pressure on the team, pressure that would not do any good. LVG could take advantage of this situation as an early goal could hurt Leicester’s morale. Sure, they have been the strongest team of the season but let’s not forget they have never been faced with a situation similar to this. If Manchester United play their cards right and start out strong, they could win important points in the battle for 4th place. The podium is not looking that far away either as a series of straight wins combined with one defeat for both City and Arsenal could get LVG’s team to 3rd place which is something given the way things were looking at some points during this season.

According to the BBC 3rd place is not the only motivation for LVG who is also quite set on not letting Leicester win the Premier League at Old Trafford. “I think we have to beat them because we are still in the race for fourth position. We cannot allow that they are the champions this weekend at Old Trafford. “I think they shall be the champions a week later. We don’t spoil the party, only postpone it a little bit.”

Usually we look into the head to head results but there’s no point in doing that right now. Leicester won their last game against United in 1998 and even if that would have happened closer to this day, what happened this season proves previous meetings have no way of predicting what happens in a Premier League clash.

In terms of the team, it might be safe to say that LVG will stick with those who won the FA Cup semi-final against Everton. Shaw, Keane, Schweinsteiger and Januzaj are unavailable and will miss the clash. Fortunately, the team looks great even without them at this point in time. The good news for LVG is that Vardy will not be available for Leicester. He is still suspended and will not be part of Ranieri’s starting eleven. When the clubs met earlier this season they tied 1-1.
