De Gea Talks Zlatan Ibrahimovic

United goalkeeper David de Gea says the arrival of Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has given the entire squad a huge lift.

The 34-year-old signed a one-year-deal at the club this summer after signing on a free contract from PSG. The veteran striker was handed the no.9 shirt by Jose Mourinho.

Jose has made 3 major signings since his arrival at the club; Ivorian defender Eric Bailly, Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan and also Zlatan Ibrahimovic who stunned fans after scoring a bicycle kick 3 mins into his debut on Saturday. De Gea admits he has been hugely impressed by all three so far in training.

“It’s really good to have Zlatan already here, training with the team,” De Gea told MUTV.

“You can see he’s a top player, he’s massive, very big, with a lot of quality and of course he is a top striker.”

“I think he will settle in very quickly. You can look and it seems like he has been playing here many years already and the same with the other guys we’ve signed.”

“That gives us more energy when you see players like them coming to Manchester and now we have to train all together, trying to be fit as soon as possible and now we’re going to play the first game against Leicester City with the Community Shield up for grabs.”

Zlatan’s arrival has already done wonders for the team in terms of ethics and confidence. This is a team that now feels like winners!
