Carrick Confident About United

Manchester United veteran Michael Carrick believes his side are on their way to something special and will turn their luck around in no time. The central midfielder, who captained his team to a frustrating 1-1 draw with Arsenal on Saturday, says that Manchester United will soon turn their dominance during games into victories.

Another frustrating home draw for Mourinho on Saturday means the Red’s have won just two of their last 9 Premier League games – putting them way off the pace in the race for the title. But Carrick is thinking positively and hopes his team can turn things around in the luck department.

“Any game you look to take positives from – you have to, you have to go away and take something, but it is a lot sort of easier to deal with a result like that when you know you’ve played well, you’ve done everything you can and you deserve to win.” said Carrick on MUTV.

“I think the problem is when you come away and it hasn’t gone to plan and you think we could have been so much better, we should have been so much better and there’s problems there we need to solve.”

“I don’t really see problems we need to solve. I think, of course, the results aren’t (ideal) and that’s the major thing, but playing like that more often than not we are going to win games. I am sure that will happen between now and the end of the season.”

Michael Carrick’s place in the squad has been solidified after it has become clear he can help bring the best out of Paul Pogba. The Englishman had a difficult time making his way into Mourinho’s side at the beginning of the season, but prior to the draw at Arsenal – every game Carrick had started under Mourinho ended in a win.
