Manchester United legend, Eric Cantona, has suggested that Manchester United can win the 2015/16 Premier League.

The Frenchman, who was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson in 1992 and scored 64 goals for the Reds, claimed that United’s derby win over Manchester City proves that they can go on to win the league title back as early as next season.

Manchester United beat City fairly emphatically at Old Trafford on Sunday to further enhance their chances of a top 4 finish. The win also means they sit in 3rd place with a 4 point cushion over City.

“Now they are the kings of the city,” said Cantona.
“Sometimes you have a season when you lose games and you finish fourth or fifth. Next year they can win.”

Although United started the game on the back foot, going behind to an early Sergio Aguero goal, they managed to reply strongly with goals from Ashley Young, Marouane Fellaini, Juan Mata and Chris Smalling before Aguero added a mere consolation goal to end the game at 4-2. It was United’s first win in the Manchester derby in 4 attempts.
